This is where, in the not too distant future, Phase one of DCWC Nepals hospital will proudly stand, providing long needed health facilities for the people of these forgotten areas. Members of the DCWC Nepal went out to visit the site in April to check out the progress of the work being undertaken. It is truly amazing to see how the site has been dug out of the hillside and even more amazing to see where they had brought the stone from to build the hospital.

The Hospital plan came to fruition after the DCWC Nepal health camp at Chaurikhola back in August 2007. We were overwhelmed with the numbers that turned up and the distances they had travelled. We were set up to see 1000 people over 4 days. By the time the health camp was finished we had treated well over 2000 people. The data we collected from the event left us without any doubt that a hospital was very badly needed in this region.

We spent a great deal of time looking into what it would take and an even greater deal of time to secure the funding to get the build under way. We had completed a lot of our work in the Kavre region and this was where we had undertaken the health camp. We were very fortunate to have the land donated to us for the hospital. Also whilst we were in the village we were fortunate to be offered land to us to enable us to build phase 2 as and when finance allows.
